Girl Falls into a Hole at a Construction Site

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — Yesterday, Sunday, a young girl was playing with her friends at a construction site near her home on President St fell into a gap between a few stacks of bricks, and could not get herself out. The girls friends quickly ran to call for help and the father came to see what he could do.

More in the extended Article.

The father told CrownHeights.info that he was afraid to attempt and move the stack incase it would fall back on his daughter, so instead he called 911 and while waiting he made sure her vital signs were ok and calmed her down.

EMS were the first to arrive on scene and immediately requested NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit to get the girl out, and in the meantime a number of ambulances who were already on scene got together and pushed the stack enough to allow the girl to walk free.

They then did a checkup on the girl and aside from being very shaken up she did not sustain any injuries B”H.

Ah, thw stupid things we do as kids, Boruch Hashem she’s ok.

    Yes Shternie, she is Jewish.

This incident should be a lesson to children and parents to not allow children to play in such places, its dangerous and who knows what might be lying on the floor there, from screws to sharp pieces of metal.

Another thing that should be mentioned is that when an adult passes by children playing is such a place, that they should stop a moment and tell them not to and how it’s a dangerous place.

I am the father of the girl who was rescued. It is important to share news of mishaps so that others may learn and guard their safety.
Sometimes even girls get into hazardous play situations. I believe that we should learn from mishaps of Bnai Noach as well, and well as share our safety tips with them.
Baruch Hashem, my daughter was not alone at the time of the mishap, otherwise she might have been trapped , G-d forbid for a long time.
The children present were wise enough to get help immediately. This is extremely important.
It bears repeating that construction sites are NOT PLAYGROUNDS.
The performance of the fire department and ambulance was TOP NOTCH.
Help was at the scene before I finished talking to the 911 dispatcher.
Every accident that comes to public attention is a potential lesson to be learned from, be it from within or outside of our community.
I thank the FDNY, EMS and Hakadosh Boruch Hu. Finally whenever you see a child at hazardous play, caring words of admonition are in order.
