Friday Night Fire Burns Through Crown Heights Home, No Injuries
by CrownHeights.info
As shul was coming to an end Friday night, a Shabbos candle tipped over in a Crown Heights home, leading to a fire that caused significant damage but thankfully left no injuries.
Neighbors called 911, Hatzalah, and Shomrim Friday after seeing smoke coming from a home on Carroll Street. Firefighters arrived and found a large fire started by a Shabbos candle that tipped over. Between the flames and the water poured on the fire, the first floor of the home was destroyed.
Thankfully the family living in the home were not trapped inside and no injuries were reported.

This could have been avoided if the family had some Tuffka mats under the candles

Could have, would have, should have, don’t count for anything

Not to change the past, obviously, but to prevent such things in the future.
