MTA Repairs to Disrupt Subway Service on the 1, 2, 3 and 5 Lines

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced major summer service changes on the 1, 2, 3 and 5 lines.

New York City Transit will replace aging tracks in Lower Manhattan over the course of five weekends, including switches that move trains between local and express tracks, the MTA said.

Service changes to 1,2,3, and 5 lines will be in place for all five weekends:

1 trains will not run south of 14 St. Service will be suspended between 14 St and South Ferry.
2 trains will operate between Eastchester-Dyre Av and 34 St-Penn Station. 2 trains replace 5 service between E 180 St and Eastchester-Dyre Av.
5 trains will operate between Wakefield-241 St and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College, making express stops on the Lexington Avenue line in Manhattan, and local stops in Brooklyn.
3 trains will not run. Service is suspended between Harlem-148 St and New Lots Av. 4 trains will replace 3 trains between Crown Heights-Utica Av and New Lots Av all weekend.

Weeknights service change from July 20-24, and 27-31:

1 trains will not run between 34 St-Penn Station and South Ferry.
2 trains will not run between 34 St-Penn Station and Brooklyn.
3 trains will be suspended.
In the Bronx, 2 trains will run on the 5 to/from Eastchester-Dyre Av and 5 trains will run on the 2 to/from Wakefield-241 St.

Service changes for August 3-7, and 10-14:

2 trains will run in two sections.

Service change for August 17-21:

1 trains will not run between 14 St and South Ferry.
2 trains will not run between 34 St-Penn Station and Brooklyn.
3 trains will be suspended.
In the Bronx, 2 trains will run on the 5 to/from Eastchester-Dyre Av and 5 trains will run on the 2 to/from Wakefield-241 St.
