Shomrim Volunteers Assist Fire Evacuees

In a tremendous act of Kiddush Hashem, several Shomrim volunteers prepared temporary living quarters for the residents of 556 New York Ave., who had to evacuate their apartments after the building caught fire yesterday. The volunteers remained at the relief center, which was set up inside a local public school, to assist the evacuees and distribute amenities for their comfort.

The Shomrim members were working, along with the Red Cross, under the auspices of CERT – the Community Emergency Response Team – for which they all volunteer in addition to their safety patrols and crime fighting activities.
