Update: Sources are reporting that the suspect turned himself in to a police station after seeing his image on news reports. The community can breathe a sigh of relief as he is now in police custody.

This is a developing story. It will be updated with more information when it becomes avalable.

The disturbing incidents began on Friday when the 8-year-old girl first noticed a person following her as she walked to her bus stop on Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue on Friday morning.

Police say that she noticed the stranger, a bald man, following her and hiding between cars as she walked from her house with a friend to her bus stop.

Later in the afternoon, the girl’s 12-year-old brother was on the bus about to be dropped off near their home when the bus was flagged down by the stalker, police said. The man told the driver he was there to pick up the boy, officials said, but the driver told the man he was not authorized to pick him up.

The driver told him to leave before he called police, according to officials, who say he then fled the area. The NYPD said he returned later in the day a few hours later when the 8-year-old girl saw him on the steps of their home, ducking down and snapping pictures of the inside of the home.

When the girl approached him, he asked her where she slept in the home and who lives with her, police said. She refused to answer the man’s questions before he eventually fled the area.

The next morning, the 12-year-old boy was approached by the man again who asked him what bedroom he slept in and who he lived with, the NYPD said. The boy also refused to answer his questions.

The accused stalker got into a white car and drove off, heading toward New York Avenue, police said. It was later that day when the victims found the hand-written note inside their mailbox.

“Watch out. I am watching you!! Your daughter is cute,” the man wrote Saturday, capping off two days of sinister encounters in Crown Heights.

Police released details of the incident along with surveillance video of the suspect in hopes of the public identifying him. Cops are asking anyone with information about this man to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1 (800) 577-TIPS.

The NYPD once again is useless once a crime C’V will occur they will do a “thorough investigation” and “take this incident very seriously” but since there is no “imminent threat” though there is, they cannot act due to ALLEGED perpetrator’s civil rights and potential for racial profiling. Even if they arrest hi, the DA wont bring charges due to “lack of evidence” and he will be free to go, such is the de blasio liberal utopia.

    #2, yes, AGREED.
but right now, its good that they caught him and then we need to figure out how to keep track of this psycho. Nobody takes any responsibility for these type of people. Where are the religious leaders on all of this?

Along with the craziness and danger posed by this kind of behavior, this sounds, alternatively, like a fairly intricately planned attempt to create feelings of terror in this family.
Not only is the perp stalking the children, he is casing the home the children live in, trying to photograph the interior of the house.
He has also asked the children odd questions, which sound like he is seeking information on what’s going on in the household, and who else is there besides the children.
Plus, there is a potential kidnapping attempt in the part of the story that involves the man posing as a person picking up the son from the bus stop.

R”L, this seems like the perp (or someone else who could have hired the perp?) wants to create feelings of terror for the family, along with the actual danger involved if he is not hired but is a lone psychopath.

    Wow.
Those poor kids – what horrible things are going on to make them lie like this? I hope the kids get the help they need as this is not just normal childish behavior.
