Black Teens Caught After Snatching Purse
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two black teens snatched a purse from two young Jewish women last night, but were caught thanks to alert residents. The incident began after midnight, when the girls were walking on Montgomery St, between Kingston and Brooklyn Ave.
The two black males snuck up behind the two young women and one swiped the purse, as the other attempted to snag a cellphone but failed. The teen duo then fled toward Brooklyn Ave, behind the girls call for help.
Upon witnessing the commotion, vigilant Crown Heights residents gave chase, while others called Shomrim and the Police.
The residents immediately apprehended and arrested one perp, on the corner of Brooklyn Ave. They retrieved the purse and retuned it to the girls.
Within minutes many Shomrim volunteers and police officers were at the scene. The police cuffed the teen who was arrested by the residents, after he fought with officers questioning him. Other officers, Shomrim volunteers and residents searched for the other perpetrator.
After a brief search the teen was located at the entrance to the alleyway on Kingston Ave, between Empire Blvd and Montgomery St. The Shomrim volunteers radioed in the their location and police brought the victims to ID the teen. The police then placed the teen in the back of their cruiser.
At the time of writing this article, CrownHeights.info was not able to confirm whether charges have been filed. According to some witness statements, the perpetrator were released a mere few blocks from incident.

To the girl involved in this incident – if you didn’t already do so, please PRESS CHARGES. You didn’t like how you felt when attacked. Now use that energy to help keep these creeps off the streets. May HaShem protect ALL of klal Yisroel from any harm.

I was there and to our shock the police did let the fellow go free, why?? why not take to the station? why show him that you can do whatever you want and get away with it?

wowww thstsss crazyyy! bc half a hour b4 this happend i got started on by 2 blacks and they were taking up the whole pavment so i walked into the road and they started screaming at me and asking me why i didnt walk on the side walk.. then they told me to go bak to where i come bak from! bc i am not from america

3. If the teens were released after committing a crime, that is wrong.
4. I agree with the comment, with youth having nothing to do, no programs to keep them occupied, no jobs to support themselves. They fall victim to the streets. All races, creeds and religions are subject to this path.

Of course charges should be pressed. But due to the distorted way things are here it’s not so easy to press charges unless there is a strong presence on the scene by Shomrim or other community members.

Inner city youth need more intensive summer work experience to keep them from getting into trouble and preparing them for future life. Chain gang and road crews come to mind (and some of unzerer oisvorfen could join them for the summer at the rate we’re going).

I am the victim. The guy they let free wasnt at fault for anything. There was only one guy who was at fault. Hes in jail and I am pressing charges. Thank you for all that helped! I really believe my screaming helped the situation as it alerted nearby residents and scared the guy. No one should ever have to feel what I felt Gd forbid!

To #5….They don’t respect you when you show that you are a whimp and scared. Next time stand up for your own respect and have some dignity and stay on the sidewalk. Don’t show fear…also try and learn more chassidus, it will help you understand the concept of bishvili nivro hooilom (in a good and respectful to others way) and the concept of not being scared of others. This way, when you stand proud, no one will start with you.
To #6……If the crime was comitted by black males, you should report it as such. It is not racist to report the facts. Dont hide your head in the sand and bend over backwards like the Israeli government to be extra nice…
