Children of Ukraine are prepared for Shavuot

Kiev, Ukraine — As a preparation for the holiday of Shovous, the director of Programs and Publishing House for Tzivos Hashem of the C.I.S. Shmuli Brown organised a very unique program for children of Ukraine.

Tzivos Hashem workers travelled to many cities in Ukraine and showed hundreds of children a Sefer Torah, told them the story of Matan Torah and the importance of the Torah to the Jewish nation.

They made a very exciting workshop where the kids prepared a Sefer Torah from beginning till the end, they made unnatural parchment, ink and colored in letters.

The children watched how to make a quill from a feather, how to make lines in the Sefer Torah, how to make lines in the Sefer Torah. They also got to see how to write the letters, how to sow the parchment to the hands of the Sefer Torah etc.

Every child got his name written on parchment by a Sofer who was present for every program, the piece of parchment was laminated and was made into a keychain.

The children also watched a Video presentation describing all stages of making a Sefer Torah. Likewise hundreds of children enrolled in buying their own letters in the Childrens Sefer Torah written in Jerusalem.
