Hundreds of people gathered in the Shul of Cheder Menachem on Sunday, Gimmel Sivan. They came to celebrate the hundreds of hours that Talmidim of the Cheder dedicated over the 2 month period between Yud Shevat and Yud Alef Nissan, to learn and review Baal Peh thousands of Mishnayos, lines of Tanya, Siddur and Yediyos Keloliyos, as a present to the Rebbe in honor of Yud Alef Nissan Shnas HaKuf-Hay.

The ceremony began with Rabbi Greenbaum, Principal of the Cheder welcoming everyone and encouraging the Talmidim to continue their learning Baal Peh, as this surely gives great Nachas to the Rebbe and hopefully will be the last step to bring Moshiach now!

Rabbi Greenbaum then introduced Rabbi Shimon Raichik, Mara Deasra of Anash of Los Angeles, who encouraged the Talmidim in their Limud, and stressed that by their learning they are truly being the guarantors of the Torah.

The Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad, Rabbi Ezra B. Schochet then said Divrei Chizuk to the Talmidim based on what the Rebbe teaches that we should not be satisfied with what we have but always want to learn and achieve even more.

Rabbi Greenbaum then introduced Rabbi Sholom Heidingsfeld, who coordinated the program, to give an overview of this year’s accomplishments and distribute the prizes.
A big applause arose from the audience as the accomplishments were announced. Over 6,872 Mishnayos learned, including 795 complete Perakim and 94 full Masechtos. Over 3272 lines of Tanya, including 49 full Perakim, and countless lines of Siddur and Yediyos Kloliyos.

The top four prizes were then distributed to the Talmidim who learnt the most – Sendy Labkowsky of Kitta Ches, who learned the entire Seder Moed and Seder Nezikin as well as part of Seder Zeraim and the first 12 Perakim of Tanya Baal Peh, Menachem Farkash of Kitta Gimmel, Mendy Gurevich and Nissi Naparstek of Kitta Zayin. After this, every Talmid received a prize according to his achievements.

A special presentation was made to Reb Yankel Ginsburg, who has been the driving force in the “Zevulun” aspect of the MBP Program, sponsoring the prizes since we started the program here in Cheder, Leiluy Nishmas his father, Reb Dov Reuven Ben Dovid Halevi OBM. Rabi Greenbaum explained that, in the spirit of the Yisachar-Zevulun relationship, Reb Yankel has learned thousands of Mishnayos and lines of Tanya Baal peh, and it is truly fitting to present him with a prize of Sefarim also. He was then presented with a set of Yalkut Moshiach UGeulah.

The Talmidim and Hanholo of the Cheder hope that this causes a lot of Nachas to the Rebbe and, as explained in the Rebbes Sichos, will bring the Hisgalus of Moshiach Now!
