Bnos Chomesh Class of 5772 Graduates

“Baruch Shehecheyanu V’kiyemanu V’higiyanu Lizman Hazeh!” exclaimed Principal Dena Gorkin, and Bnos Chomesh’s 3rd graduation was underway. “I am awed,” she continued, “by the fact that this is our 3rd graduating class when just 6 years ago Bnos Chomesh was only a dream!” Yes indeed, it was a dream. And today it is a place where dreams come true.

For many high school students, a large school environment can be overwhelming. Even strong students can get lost in the shuffle. Bnos Chomesh is a school that provides a small, warm environment for those students who thrive on the personal attention offered there.

Senior Soshi Wiener put it aptly when she spoke. “Our teachers make us feel like each one of us is an olam malei- complete world. They devote themselves fully to our development. On behalf of my classmates I would like to thank all my teachers. I will take the best they gave me and bring it with me into life.”

Senior Chaya Sarah Tatik spoke about having previously been unmotivated in school. Her 3 years at Bnos Chomesh “made me realize how important it was to be a knowledgable person. ” Chaya Sarah added that she learned to rely on herself to succeed in school and was rewarded with the results of her hard work—good grades, for the first time in years.

Proud parents enjoyed hearing each of the graduates speak on a different topic, but one theme prevailed: These students love their school. A slideshow presentation was a vibrant collage of the years that the students enjoyed at Bnos Chomesh. Senior Orly Shoshan thanked the parents on behalf of her classmates after which each graduate presented her mother with a long stemmed rose.

Bnos Chomesh students will go on to seminaries in Eretz Yisroel, Italy and Australia.

A hearty mazel tov to all of this year’s graduates and their families: Chaya Duato, Shterna Sarah Glazman, Orly S., Coty Simon, Chaya Sarah Tatik and Soshi Wiener.
