Students Awarded for Compositions on Rebbe’s Sichos

Last week, a celebration was held for eight talmidim of the Oholei Torah Mesivta, after Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm, the Yeshiva’s dean, began a new initiative for the bochurim to learn the entire 5th Chelek of Likutei Sichos and write a synopsis on each sicha.

Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, Mashpia in the Beis Medrash, tested the bochurim, and was visibly impressed with the depth of their understanding. Each bochur was rewarded with a set of Likutei Sichos-Mo’oadim.

Many more bochurim are joining the current phase, learning Chelek Vov – on Sefer Shmos.

The bochurim who participated were: Menachem M. Baron, Shmuel Gurary, Dovid Geisinsky, Menchem M. Lepkivker, Menachem M. Nemanov, Menachem M. Sorkin and Levi Parness.

    In what language did the talmidim write their synopses — English, Hebrew, or Yiddish?

      OT does not teach goyish, and the students can’t write hebreish or mamma loshon. They wrote the synopsis in hieroglyphs.

    Just an observation….
    How come the Bochurim cant tuck thier shirts in???
    They stand next to the Rabbis and look unkept….but as long as they have hats and jackets on, its ok….

      Who decided that shirts are to be worn tucked into pants? Maybe the jacket is also supposed to be tucked into the pants?!

      You decided a “rule” and then complain why they aren’t following it!

    Is it the Rebbes sichos or Nachmans sichos, (new court case). I think Nachmans thinks it is his!!!!

    Has Nachman changed his mind and admitting that it is the “Rebbe’s ZY”A ” likutei sichos and not Zalmen Chanin’s Vaad personal composition that the rebbe looked over as they testified in their deposition.
    BTW.. kudos to Sholem Jacobson who refused to testify…

    It’s been a few decades that we’ve been mourning the loss of higher order intelligence on a mass scale.
    I can’t make sense of why any parent would pay 10K in babysitting services which teach their children absolutely nothing.

    But now this, my soul is revived. There is hope. They’re actually *teaching* the kids. This is for has historical importance: on this day, lubavitch institution took a turn in the right direction. I hope.
