SAFED, Israel — Chabad emissaries mourn the death of 44 year old Mrs. Libby Feigele Malka Shifman of Safed, Israel today after she suffered a severe stroke on Monday morning.
Mrs. Shifman’s is survived by nine children and her husband, Rabbi Aharon Shifman, the director of Chabad activities in the nearby villages of Parod and Shefer. She was the sister of Rabbi Daniel Kaye of Chabad of Sydney, Australia and Rabbi Eli Kaye of Chabad’s Ascent outreach center in Safed, Israel.

Mrs. Shifman’s is survived by nine children and her husband, Rabbi Aharon Shifman, the director of Chabad activities in the nearby villages of Parod and Shefer. She was the sister of Rabbi Daniel Kaye of Chabad of Sydney, Australia and Rabbi Eli Kaye of Chabad’s Ascent outreach center in Safed, Israel.
She was laid to rest this evening after a funeral procession which began at the Levy Yitzhok Synagogue in the heart of the Chabad community of Safed.
Friends described her as “a loving and dedicated mother who was full of the joy of life and love for all Jews.” Others called her “compassionate,” recalling their experiences with Mrs. Shifman, a noted matchmaker in her community.

The Chabad community in Tzfas in northern Israel is mourning over the shocking sudden death of a mother of nine.
Mrs. Libby Feigale Malka (Kaye) Shifman , 44, suffered a severe stroke Sunday and was hospitalized unconscious in a local medical center.
This morning, Tuesday, she passed away, leaving a broken family.
Her husband, Rabbi Aaron Shifman, serves as a Gabai in the Heichal Levi Yitzchak – Chabad’s central synagogue in the city. He also directs Chabad activities in neighboring villages Shefer and Prud.
The daughter of the late Dr. Alan Kaye Z“L and YBL”T Rivka Kaye of Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Shifman raised a beautiful Chassidic family.
She is survived by her husband and children Mendy, Chaya Mushka, Aidale, Shoshana, Miriam, Devorah Leah, Pesach, Chanie and Menucy.
She was the sister of YBL”T Mrs. Devorah Howorth of Baltimore MD, USA, Rabbi Eli Kaye of Chabad’s Ascent outreach center in Safed, Israel, Rabbi Daniel Kaye of Chabad of Sydney and Mashgiach of the Yeshiva Gedola, Australia, Rabbi Baruch Kaye of Crown Travel Crown Heights, Mrs. Yocheved Goren of Kfar Chabad Shikunim, Israel.
She was buried today in the Tzfas cemetery. May her soul rest in peace.
