CGI Parksville Enjoys Overnight Camping Trip

As the shul filled with campers and counselors, there was an ominous hush in the air; the campers had been told someone had taken material from the arts and crafts…

…but suddenly all the staff jumped out from behind the curtain and yelled “BIVOUAC!!!!” (For the illiterate: ‘bivouac’ is camp slang for an overnight trip, it’s the French word for camping)

All the campers and counselors headed to their bunks to prepare their tents, flashlights, sleeping bags, bug spray and marshmallows, and returned to the shul for Mincha.

Once they arrived at the beautiful Never Sink Camping Grounds, the campers started to stretch out and play in the open area.

After unpacking, setting up their tents and collecting wood, survival director Yossi Serebryansky showed everyone how to make a proper “teepee” structure for a giant and safe bonfire.

With the counselors toiling over the grills to make a delicious barbecue supper, the campers sang and ate and had the best ‘bivouac’ ever!
