Eastern Parkway Accident Injures One
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two cars collided in the middle of the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue, with one of the cars ending up of the ‘island,’ miraculously no pedestrians were hurt. Eyewitnesses said one of the cars blew through a steady red light.
The incident occurred at around 2:45pm. According to eye witnesses the gold colored Toyota, which was travelling on Brooklyn, drove right into the major intersection against a red traffic signal. The black Honda was traveling on Eastern Parkway and had the green light.
911 was called, but a passing Shomrim volunteer was the first on scene and gave initial care to the female driver, who complained of neck and back pains. Once EMS arrived at the scene the woman was safely removed from her damaged car and transported to a local hospital.
