Three Injured in Eastern Parkway Crash

Three people were injured when two cars collided in a busy Eastern Parkway intersection, two children in one of the cars were not hurt.

The crash occurred in the intersection of Brooklyn Avenue and Eastern Parkway at around 4:30pm. One car, a Nissan Altima, attempted to make a left turn onto Brooklyn Avenue and collided with the Sentra, which was traveling eastbound and going straight.

Bystanders called Hatzalah, who arrived on scene before any other first responders and treated the injured – making a big Kiddush Hashem.

All the injured were transported to Kings County Hospital with minor injuries.

Just one week ago three people were critically injured, one suffering an amputation, when two cars collided in a similar manner just one block away at the Kingston Avenue intersection.

    Wonder when the DOT will finally get the memo that their new traffic pattern is a disaster. Probably not until the City is named in an injury lawsuit.

    It must have happened moments after I got through that intersection because the clock in the car said 4:31 as I turned into Montgomery from Brooklyn. It was tough to get across EP because of pedestrians, it always is at that time. This is where our kids cross! Please be careful and if you have to wait one light or more to get through, too bad. Better dead late than dead.

    It’s so scary! SO many kids at the corner crossing the streets by themselves! I’m an adult and I’m scared to cross with these nutty drivers out there!

    We should start a law suits against the city and dot

    For causing so many accidents all we need is to get auto insurance company’s to join us

    It’s costing insurance lots of money each accident

    The only one making money is the body shops

    What are you people waiting for?? If there is a need to fix or to reverse a certain traffic lane then why isn’t everybody protesting or at least demanding for this change to take place?? I dont think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out what the problem is and correct it. One person hurt is one too many. Please enough people suffered and are suffering because of this ridiculous change of traffic lane. FIX IT NOW!!

      We have a corrupt & inefficient CHJCC who don’t care. We as a community can’t seem to mobilize for anything. Why isn’t the CHJCC hammering at our new council member or at our previous one to get DoT to change their minds like they did by Maimonides? We don’t have a Dov Hikind type who will work for US, the community, or a powerful leadership like in WB, we have scammers & self-servers.

    I drive side streets as much as I can, and I’m just very careful, its called defensive driving….assume the other driver will do something not ok.

      For sure! All it takes is one person to decide that they have injuries b/c Hatzolah did not treat them properly.

      It also makes the city emt’s lazy to get there b/c they know Hatzolah will do their job for them.

    How about installing TURN SIGNAL Lights at ALL intersection?? THAT would prevent turning accidents: Green-Turn; RED – can NOT turn. THAT is the solution!!

    Why isn’t the CHJCC trying to help and get the lane back???? So many accidents!!

    The city of NY needs to wake up and realize that ever since they installed these lane markers there has been accidents every day. never have we seen so many accidents on eastern parkway in history. WAKE UP NYC…..

    If no one will put on speed bumps, I’ll just have to go out there myself and lay across liquid concrete in the middle of the night!!!! and let it dry hard. This is sick. Really inefficient.

    JUST FOR THE RECORD, THERE IS A TURNING LIGHT ON BROOKLYN AND EASTERN PARKWAY. PEOPLE JUST HAVE TO LEARN TO BE PATIENT AND WAIT THE EXTRA 2 OR 3 SECONDS TO MAKE THE TURN AND DO IT SAFELY.
    AS FOR SPEED BUMPS ON EASTRN PARKWAY, AS A DRIVER THAT IS THE MOST INSANE THING I HAVE HEARD SO FAR. WHAT MIGHT HELP WOULD BE SPEED CAMERA’S. IF PEOPLE GOT A TICKET IN THE MAIL FOR SPEEDING ALONG EASTERN PARKWAY THEY WOULD SLOW DOWN REAL FAST.
    AND NUMBER ONE, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, IS THAT ALL YOUR CONCERNED ABOUT IS THE STUPID PIECE OF METAL SHAPED INTO A CAR? IF IT’S EXPENSIVE OR NOT???? WHERE ARE YOUR VALUES????
