SCAM ALERT: Car Fix Scam Targets Unwary Drivers In Crown Heights

Crown Heights Shomrim has released a Scam Alert for the Crown Heights community as a “Car Dent Fix” Scam returns to the Shchuna.
“Two men in a red sedan, sometimes accompanied by a child, are stopping people on the street offering to fix dents in your car for several hundred dollars,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote. “They are reportedly very pushy and use a spray/sanding method while promising results within 24 hours.”
DO NOT ENGAGE OR GIVE THEM MONEY.
These scammers promise to fix a dent, but instead use other methods that look at first like they work, while in fact they are only causing more damage.
“Shomrim located and confronted them, and they left Crown Heights,” they wrote. “Our advanced technology team is monitoring for their return.”
