Birthright Group Celebrates 6 Bar Mitzvas

Tel Aviv, Israel — Six members of a “Birthright” traveling group decided that since they had never yet celebrated their Bar Mitzvas, it would be appropriate to do this while they were still in Israel. They got in contact with Chabad of Tel Aviv, who forwarded them to its Yeshiva, “Chazon Eliyahu”.

The whole group turned out to celebrate this occasion with their friends. Tefillin were put on all the members of the group, with the 6 Bar Mitzvah “boys” all given Aliyos. Joyous dancing broke out at the conclusion of the Aliyos.

One of the Bar Mitzva boys spoke how having put on Tefillin for the first time, served as a fitting and significant end to their stay in Israel.

They were then addressed by Hatomim Shimi Ash who emphasized the importance of the Mitzvah of Tefillin whilst connecting it to the 40th anniversary of the Six Day War, and the importance of lighting Shabbos Candles.

The event was a truly uplifting experience for all.

Thanks goes to the Shluchim Of Yeshivas Chazon Eliyahu for organizing this event.
