A Sukka at the Pikesville Military Reservation Armory
For the first time, Sukkos was celebrated at the Pikesville Military Reservation Armory for the soldiers of the Maryland Defense Force. Chaplain Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, who is the only Jewish Chaplain at the Maryland Defense Force, arranged for a Sukka mobile to visit the Armory in Baltimore.
Over 25 MDDF soldiers visited the Sukka, including the General of the Maryland Defense Force.
One of the Jewish soldiers did Mitzvas Lulav for the very first time in his life. It was also an educational experience for the non-Jewish soldiers, many of them visiting the Sukka to find out more about the holiday and its customs.
The Sukka Mobile was sponsored by Chabad of Park Heights.
