Safety Kid® Child Safety program was created and developed by the Aleinu Family Resource Center, a program of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles. We are thrilled to welcome three professionals from Aleinu who will ImY”H be arriving in Crown heights to run the workshops at this conference.

Different workshops are prepared for all involved. All teachers, from all local schools, boys and girls, will attend a two hour workshop that will help ensure safety for both students and staff. School administrators will cover safety protocols, handling allegations, and creating a safer school environment for our children.

The Parent workshop, being offered twice to enable all parents to join, will be informative and offer practical advice for keeping children safe, as well as review warning signs.

Most importantly, 25 volunteers including parents and mental health professionals will take a full three day training course to become certified Safety Kid® Educators! After this intense training they will go into the classrooms and present The Safety Kid®’s ABC’s of Safety. Topics include what to do when lost, never go alone; bring a friend, to say NO! when put in an uncomfortable situation and much more . The interactive presentations, which use videos, puppetry and more, are a fun and effective way to instill these life saving lessons. Each child will come home with their own Safety Kid® Kit to review with their parent what they have learnt.

This amazing initiative is brought to you by the Chinuch Office, and the Crown Heights Parents Safety Alliance; a committee formed with parents from all our schools who are working hard to bring this to fruition.

Participating schools include: Oholei Torah, Lubavitcher Yeshiva Crown Street, Ohr Menachem, Darchei Menachem, Cheder at the Ohel, Lamplighters, Luria Academy, Bais Rivkah, Bnos Menachem, Bais Chaya Mushka, Mosdos and Ohel Sara.

Reminder: Parent workshops are this Sunday, October 28th at Oholei Torah, or Monday, October 29th at Lubavitcher Yeshiva-Crown St.

Every child who’s parent attends will receive a prize in school the next day!

I would just like to make parents who live in buildings and leave children alone in the apartment and give their neighbor a baby monitor or their phone aware how irresponsible they are being, yes they would hear your child cry but would not be aware of a fire chas v’sholom.
THIS IS WAITING FOR DISASTER NO MATTER HOW SHORT OF A TIME FRAME
