Its load was just too much. The bus which many Crown Heightsers count on for transportation to and from Boro Park broke down last night on Ocean Avenue, its suspension simply collapsed and left stranded in the middle of the street.

What a non-surprise: It seemed often on the numerous times that I rode that bus that it wa overpacked with people and packages. Many times I wondered if the bus was not going to fall apart because it felt like that simple repairs were not made to the bus. Then, of course, the bus had to be driven upon the roads of Brooklyn which are amongst the worst in the nation.

P.S. if the suspension in the front of the bus collapsed, then it is not the wiegbhtit was carrying but the lack of proper maintence.

That bus is of historic significance! I think it was running the first time I cam etyo Crown Heights about 40 years ago. How old is it? What make is it? Or was it.

It’s probably a strut with a spring/coil around it. Looks like the spring snapped and the bus dropped. Not too hard to fix. It needs an alignment.

Send it to Cuba: They’ll get it up and running, and it’ll be considered the newest bus on Havana’s streets!

    1) When a driver stays with a bus – is that the same as when a captain stays with a ship?

    2) Did they send lifeboats for the passengers? How did they get home – and did they get their money back?

    3) Can someone take down the CrownHeights sign? It’s embarrassing. Drivers will look “ah it’s the Lubavitchers! Maybe Moshiach can rescue them!”

Please don’t let them just fix it!!!
It’s time to get a new one!!!!
It’s a big piece of garbage!!
Just no one says anything cuz we we need the bus to get us to BP!!
But time for a new one!

The guy’s been using the same stinking bus for many years… It shook, rattled and rolled from Boro Park down Cortelyou like there was no tomorrow………. What an EL CHEAPO driver for not maintaining it and grabbing all the cash for himself. It’s sickening.

you’re the idiot for giving him all your cash to grab
you didn’t like it? then you didn’t have to use it.
it’s “sickening” that you can’t take it if someone else has some money.
    jealous ewww

The bus and the service it provides is pathetic.
When it runs it is usually late.
Last week it didn’t run for 2-3 days.
Women and men are squashed together when the bus is full.
The bus is too small for the community needs in 2013.
A new modern bus service is needed now.
The present owners are just milking the community as long as they can.
A new operator should take over.

  • Good old Boro Park Bus

Provides a much needed service for many working people, but it’s time the old buses went out to pasture.

  • hope no one was killed...
