CrownHeights.info has exclusively obtained this unique, never-before-seen vintage photograph of the Rebbe exiting his car to enter 770, after returning from the Ohel on a Monday morning in the mid ’70s. Can you figure out which particular day of the year it is?

In this picture the Rebbe is coming from the Mikve before he went to the Ohel.

Simple; the car here is in the wrong direction coming from Kingston and the Rebbe is wearing shoes. When the Rebbe came from the Ohel he always had his sneakers on and usually he also had a bag in his hand as well.

What do you mean never before seen? Surely the photo didn’t sit undeveloped for 40 years.

  • Labor Day

it doesnt look like from the ohel maybe the mikveh or from home? if you look you can see the Rebbe is wearing Shoes and when the rebbe would come back from the Ohel the rebbe would be wearing non leather shoes.

  • The Mikvah

It is Labor Day and the Rebbe is coming back from the Mikvah. The Rebbe always sat in the front seat next to Rabbi Krinksy or Rabbi Klein never in the back.

    Correction to #6:

The Rebbe is coming from his home on President st. As it wasn’t possible to drive down NY Ave and across Eastern Pkw, the Rebbe’s car went to KJingston Ave.

Labor Day parades back then were very different and wilder than today.

Mikva was usually with R Binyomin Klein in the other car.

  • Mordechai.

amazing pic. Thank u so much 4 posting. CH info u did a great thing. & u c how the Rebbe’s back is faced toward them. As not 2 look @ the pritzus.

  • Yitzchak shmuel

Look how all the goyim r looking @ the Melech they all stop what they r doing & all face the Rebbe, not out of Bitul but this shows that even they stop & give respect 2 the Melech. that is amazing.

I remember the Rebbe going in and out from the back of the car, not the front seat. (although I was young, maybe the times the rebbe went to the Ohel was different, but I definitely saw the REbbe many times go to the back
