Lubavitch Yeshiva Shakes NYC With Mivtza Lulav

This Sukkos, Talmidim of Tomchei Temimim took to the streets of New York, giving thousands of Yidden the opportunity to make a Bracha on the Daled Minim.

The impressive Mivtza Lulav was part of a Yeshiva-wide initiative to make Mivtzoim an integral part of the Talmidim’s Sukkos experience, putting the Rebbe’s Hora’os into action in a practical way.

In keeping with the Rebbe’s directive that children have a major role in Mivtzoim and should lead and inspire their families, the Yeshiva encouraged every Talmid to take part. Talmidim were encouraged to have their own set of Daled Minim. They were urged to use them not only for their personal Mitzvah, but also as a means of reaching other Yidden.

Throughout Chol Hamoed, Talmidim went out with their families, brought their Daled Minim along on family trips, and looked for opportunities to offer Yidden the chance to make a Bracha on Lulav and Esrog. Hundreds of Talmidim participated, reaching thousands of people.

The excitement of the Mivtza continued throughout Chol Hamoed, as photos of Talmidim participating in Mivtza Lulav were shared on the Yeshiva’s status and later showcased on the large screens at the Yeshiva’s Simchas Beis Hashoeva on Leil Hoshana Rabbah. A daily Mivtzoim raffle added to the excitement, encouraging talmidim to take part and continue their efforts.

The initiative reflected the unique Chinuch of Tomchei Tmimim, that learning is meant to lead to action, and that every Talmid has the ability to bring Yiddishkeit to another Yid.
