Letter From The Editor: They Weren’t “Protesters”, And The Community Showed Their Displeasure

by CrownHeights.info Editor

When a group of masked people screaming genocidal slogans comes to your community and sets up shop at a contentious flashpoint location, they aren’t “protesters”, they are instigators. The community wasn’t having it, and the message was made clear.

As Rabbi Yaacov Behrman wrote on X, “What happened tonight in Crown Heights was outrageous and deeply disturbing. A group of antisemitic protesters gathered at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue—the very heart of this heavily populated Jewish neighborhood—spewing hateful, inflammatory rhetoric at innocent passersby, myself included.”

Chants of “We don’t want Zionists here,” “We don’t want two states, we want all of it,” and “Resistance is justified,” are not the chants of protest, they are chants of a genocidal terrorist organization looking to harm, if not eradicate, the community the chants are being made it.

It was disgusting and detestable.

Many hundreds of bochurim came out of 770, some of whom lost family and friends on October 7th, to find this group spewing their vitriol, and decided to make their voice heard. Within a short time, thousands of community residents were on the streets of Crown Heights and the demand was made that these “protesters” be made to leave. The NYPD refused.

As tensions boiled over the situation got out of control. Ten bochurim and one “protester” were arrested in the ensuing chaos.

This should never have happened.

The right to protest is a protected right in the United States, and no one thinks that should change. But coming masked to a community while holding flags and chanting slogans associated with the intent of the community’s eradication – stretches the definition of protest well past its breaking point.

This wasn’t a protest. It can best be described as a small Klu Klux Klan rally in a black neighborhood. No one would demand that they endure such a “protest”, and the same applies here.

This wasn’t a protest, and it should never have been allowed to happen.

Borrowing a rhetorical device from these thugs and freaks; what happened to them was just a natural response to their genocidal provocations. They, alone, are to blame for the chaos.

You’re right This was not a protest but a setup to instigate anger and violence and click bait narratives just like by kapporas. Our bochurim took the bait and fell for it. Where were the adults? These paid instigators are looking for attention and to provoke. Why weren’t they ignored?
By the way, they are getting paid from our tax dollars. Organized by the Marxists intel agencies in our gvt.
