Jews & Politics: GOP Convention Update (Part 1)

by Yosef Abrahamson

Despite some unpredictable changes due to the weather, the 2012 page program is in full swing! One of the best parts about the program is meeting all my fellow young republicans from around the united states.

Young men and women my age from Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado and Alabama – just to name a few – have all come together to share experiences and help make the GOP convention a big success. In fact just remembering my experience from 2008, I am sure that I will make just as many memorable friends as four years ago.

Because tropical storm Isaac pushed the convention a day off schedule I have not had a chance to be on the floor yet and begin the real part of my page duties, but I look forward to that changing tomorrow when the real excitement of the week begins.

I’m also happy to report that receiving kosher food hasn’t been a problem as my director and my head captain have made sure that my food is ready just as quickly as the other pages’.

Tomorrow night is the first night of the actual convention so I look forward to sharing plenty of experiences in the coming days!

Which ice cream trucks are they going to have @ the convention?

The other one or the other one?

  • Hey Thanks for Your Report

Can you describe what the atmosphere is like there, are they upbeat? Any good speeches or events? Was anything said that would particularly interest the Jewish community or Israel?
