Yesterday was the twenty seventh of Adar. There are many Bochurim in Lubavitch who weren't even born. At least I remember when it happened. The question of course is, what does this day mean to us? What does it do to us? And what do we do for it? The answers to these questions are not simple ones. In fact, I don't know if anyone even has the answers. But that doesn't mean we don't have to ask the questions. Because if you don't even have the question, how can you ever expect to work out the answer? Because that's what it's really all about.
Every person has to look inside their heart and say, "Hey, what's up? What have I accomplished? What does 17 years without mean to me? Have I gotten over it, or am I still in mourning? Have the chai, the living, Yiten El Libo, taken it to heart? Or was this generation's Parah Adumah completely wasted? Those are the types of questions we all have to ask ourselves.
Feelings: 17 Years – We Are Orphans, Without A Father

Have the chai, the living, Yiten El Libo, taken it to heart? Or was this generation’s Parah Adumah completely wasted? Those are the types of questions we all have to ask ourselves.
There’s two types of Chof Zayin Adar Farbrengens. There’s the ones where the Mashpia gathers his charges around and relates the story. I’ve been to several of these, and although they’re informative they’re also almost always depressing. The identity of the scapegoat changes depending on who is doing the Farbrenging, but at the end of the day, after everyone’s been blamed for everything, those 17 years still remain.
The other type of Farbrengen, much rarer, is the one where the Mashpia rallies the troops and inspires them all to do everything possible to hasten the coming of Moshiach. Since its Chof Zayin Adar this is not sufficient; it’s also necessary to ask those questions I laid out above.
You know why this type of Farbrengen is so rare? Because it’s so difficult. To sit there, as a Mashpia, not knowing the answers to the questions you’re asking – that’s tough. It’s always easier to simply retreat into the past, to pretend that it’s 1993 or ’95. But doing this is also giving up. Yes, it’s important for Bochurim to know where they’re coming from, but even more importantly, they have to know where they’re going.
And where is it that they’re going? I wish I knew. Honestly, it’s such a crazy world out there, who knows what’s going to be? All we can do is, in the words of the immortal Lipa Schmeltzer, “Hut Bitachon Vet Aleh Zein Gut.” Yup.

wrong tital
just reading the tital you get the way you think.Do you suspect for even one moment that the Rebbe left us?what is wrong with you!The rebbe said he will never leave us,if he dedicated his entire life for his chassidim what do think he is doing now?NOTHING?i feel bad for e/o that thinks the way you ppl. do,b/c that would not consider you chassidim since if your Rebbe is trully powerless now well……
moshiach now
the purim shpiel is a bit late…
is it a joke bringing something from lipa shmeltzer when talking about chof-zain adar?
i think the guy that wrote this needs to get out of his depression, starting by taking the sichos and maamorim of the Rebbe to heart instead of “the immortal” lipa shmeltzer.. lipa shmeltzer is more important to you than the Rebbe? you think lipa will be around more than the Rebbe? lipa shmeltzer is guiding this generation to moshiach?? can you take these questions seriously? please don’t. i have no idea how you can look yourself in the mirror after writing something so stupid.

It’s very interesting that you chose this picture with Rabbi Brisky (half hidden in center) whose daughter got engaged today. Mazal Tov!

All you flamers totally misunderstood this article… it was originally written for the TRS audience who can tell when TRS is making a joke etc… and the only joke in this article was the Lipa line.
Relax.
A Proud meshichist
i hate the name of this article
the rebbe is with us, if you cant see him then that means you have to work harder to be able to see him.
i, myself, was born in tof shin nun daled, 1994, after gimmel tamuz, and i was very disapointed that i never EVER had a chance to get a dollar or a brocha from the rebbe. not even to see Him ever! its harder for me, a 14 year old, then all those 17 year olds that at least were born when the rebbe was still with us physically.
i cant wait for moshiach to come, so ill be able to see the rebbe with my physical eyes. meanwhile, the rebbe is WITH us, and its harder for me to say this because i never saw the rebbe begashmius.
gimel tamuz (and 27 adar) was a test to see if we truly believe and want moshiach and to see our hiskashrus to the rebbe. keep your heads up! moshiach is coming!

To a proud masochist:
Chabad is dying, it is loosing all the credibility because of these “yechi” attitudes. Until you stop looking for a walking ghost in 770 at “Rebbe’s minyan”, and start working towards bringing in Moshiach, Chabad will be loosing its followers. Do the mizvot as the Rebbe said, to bring Moschiah in faster.
