BDE: Mrs. Felice Isaac, 88, OBM

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Felice Isaac OBM, a mother and community activist in Singapore. She passed away on Thursday, the 8th of Nissan 5780.

She was 88 years old.

Mrs. Felice Isaac was a fighter for all things good. She served as past president of the Singapore Jewish Welfare Board for many years, and was a trustee of most, if not all, of the Singapore Jewish Community Charity Trusts, having been nominated as Treasurer in 1962, (while working full time and raising 7 children between 1 and 17 years old!) up until she was admitted to the ICU this past August. As Trustee of the Chesed El Synagogue, she saw to it’s renovation about 25 years ago, and ensured that at least once a week, on Mondays, the minyan would daven at Chesed El Synagogue, to keep it open and functioning, until there was a large enough community to maintain minyanim at both the Chesed El Synagogue and the main shul, Maghain Abbot Synagogue.

She is survived by her children, Florence Lassen (Sydney, Australia), Dr Stan Isaac (Singapore), Mrs. Anita Isaac (Singapore), Dr. John Isaac (Solihull, England), Mrs. Mazal Zirkind (Crown Heights), and Lilian Isaac (Singapore), and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Fredrick Jacob Isaac who passed away in 2001/5762, and her oldest daughter Renee Isaac who passed away in 1969/5730.
