VP Makes Unannounced Stop at Vandalized Cemetery

Vice President Mike Pence made an unannounced visit to the St. Louis Jewish cemetery which was vandalized yesterday. He gave a speech through a loudspeaker.

“I spoke words earlier today in St. Louis that were from the heart. There is no place in America for hatred, prejudice, or acts of violence, or anti-Semitism. I must tell you that the people of Missouri are inspiring the nation by your love and care for this place and the Jewish community. I want to thank you for that inspiration. For showing the world what America is all about,” said Vice President Mike Pence.

Nearly 200 headstones were damaged and/or toppled in the Chesed Shel Emeth cemetery in the St. Louis suburb of University City, Missouri, leaving members of the local Jewish community rattled.

I was most impressed how he actually spent time to clean up the cemetery with rake in hand, and not worrying about getting his clothing dirty, etc. He seems like a genuine good person.

if he was REALLY working, his tie would be off …… A great photo op to get a strong message out ….. why don’t see any “black hats” ….AND standing to the vice-pres RIGHT “looks like” one of the BERG’s from the Center

are you sure you can’t find anything else to complain about? he went far and beyond and deserves credit for it. stop being so bitter

More that Obama ever did. He always waited to see the Devastation after the storm ect then when his golf vacation was over. Then he would just walk and talk. He never got in there and helped clean. Throwing money at a problem isn’t always the best or only answer.
To people whining about him wearing a tie, come on really? You dislike him and President Trump that much you have to nitpick?

    wow. really.
but can we also have updates on the criminal angle? Do they have any leads??
the muslim woman who raised money for this, is questionable by the way. She is strongly anti Israel, and she should not be trusted.
they may be doing this money thing to soften the attitudes on the Muslim community who are working quietly on all anti-Israel issues and much more

  • Wondering...

Raising money for a Jewish cause is a good way to raise money and then use it how you please.

If they raised money – shouldn’t they have given it to the cemetery people to do their job? What is the money being used for, and why are all these people roaming around the cemetery? A show of solidarity can be done elsewhere.

Is the money going to put in a surveillance system in this and other Jewish cemeteries? Or used to find the perpetrators who did the vandalism? I sure hope it was not the same people who planned the crime and then benefitted from the clean up.

My questions do not change my respect for Vice President Pence. He is a fine person. We are lucky to have him as VP. I wonder if there has ever been a VP who is so close to the President and so active.
