Chaos In 770 As Rabbi Braun Cancels Mincha Leining Over Extremist Actions

by CrownHeights.info

Chaos reined in 770 during Mincha Shabbos afternoon after extremist actions prompted Rabbi Braun to cancel Mincha and lock the Aron Kodesh.

Reports from 770 tell of the chaos as pushing and shoving began at the main Minyan Shabbos afternoon during the singing of Yechi before Krias Hatorah. Rabbi Braun, who has been outspoken in the past over extremist actions, put a halt to the Minyan, and refused to allow Krias Hatorah to begin.

The scene went wild, with reports if Sefarim thrown and the main Aron Kodesh locked by the Shul management.

The main Minyan Mincha was subsequently canceled.

Thus begins the chaotic month of Tishrei in 770, which has been stained with extremist actions and violence year after year.

Yet, it is hardly the beginning.

In an unreported incident from earlier in the week, one of the shul’s managers was assaulted and burned in a targeted attack. He was treated in a local hospital and released home.

Hope for a controlled and violence free Tishrei was high this year, following multi-year reforms that saw perpetrators of violence, drug addicts, and instigators facing legal blowback and police enforcement. Ultimately, it is up to the community itself to step up and ensure that those who perpetrate violence are held accountable for their actions.

  • just saying...

you cant be labeling this as a mishechist problem. this is a small group of unstable people that don’t have their priorities straight. not a group of mishechistim that actually care about the rebbe MH”M shlit”a. this goes to show that not all so to speak “mishechistim” are so real. BUT A LOT ARE!

    • Chaim

With all due respect. This is absolutely a mishischist problem. Where and when was the seed to the monstrosity planted ?
You made the cake now eat it.

For decades your kind encouraged, justified and excused these violent actions, now you’re trying to disown them? Why, because you lost control?

    • Chaim

By the way…..what are the “REAL mishischistim” going to do about this violence that’s happening right in front of the Rebbe Meleach HaMoshiach?
Are you just gonna stand by with your hands folded? Aren’t you going to honor the kovod of the MH”M?

    • Yankel Poilisher

      Here’s your chance.
This is the time for “mainstream meshichistim” to completely denounce this behavior. Otherwise, they’re part of the problem.

    • @ leah

Good grief! So are your grandparents or parents. What kind of person they left here! Watch your language.

We need excessive ahavas yisroel yet be firm to keep peace amongst our own. Know what coming. There’s looming change in NYC, it’s called Mamdani and progressive: translated as make NYC affordable by very high crime, encouraging people to flee NY, glut of houses for sale, lowering real estate prices drastically. But let there at least be peace amongst us! And a very good and sweet new year!

  • I was there

This isn’t what happened. The gaboim got upset that some random Israeli bochur decided to say Yechi by psicha, so they locked the Aron Kodesh until he left shul (the same happened by shachris and he left a few minutes later with no incident). So another Sefer Torah was brought and kria was made in the front and the minyan proceeded. The violence only began later when the minyan reached Pirkei Avos

  • I was there (contd)

At that point, the gaboim decided to continue with kria (even though the bochur hadn’t left) because they need the money from the bar mitzvos after all… so things got violent as their representatives came to open the aron kodesh and continue the minyan, but minutes later all was calm again and both minyanim concluded. (I didn’t see Rabbi Braun anywhere, but I was davening so may have missed him.)

Blame all the problems on the crazy messianic cult. Rip down the yechi sign and regain control of 770. A real disgrace !

Every time I go to the omud it’s very hard they push you thei stand in your face and distract the chazan when I went back after krias hatoiro dont let you go next to the torah cause they need a certain amount of space for the rebbe they never tell you how much space and the last time I went they literally three guys pinched me and pulled me. Literally took my breath out of me. It’s very hard

  • Anonymous

On tisho bov longer decided not to let them remove the proiches Zama Lipsker tried to open it and this guy was pulling and closed it. Finally, Zalmen left and another guy started fighting with another guy and they pulled down ripped off.the poroiches I was very upset was thinking for a din torah but cant decide how to go about it other chazonim complain, but nobody seems to do anything about it

  • Bubby

Every year it’s the same – crazies who never saw the Rebbe but who think shrieking Yechi makes them Chassidim. The cleaners in 770 have more respect, for people, sefarim and Makom HaRebbe. When will you “gabboim” get some backbone and get these lunatics out ? It will be all over the media and again, the tunnel builders etc (rejects from Hamas engineering corps) will ruin the chagim for us all.

  • Bubby contd

Furthermore, if Rabbis Braun, Osdoba, Segal etc would have stepped in at the very beginning, we wouldn’t have this behavior. Why do they come here? Only to cause trouble. Get them arrested and deported.

  • Mushkie

The call of the anti-establishment Hippies of the ’60s: “All we need is love”. Love fixes everything. Right! I say, “Baseball bats fix everything!” Shul managers and gabboyim – bring baseball bats.

  • Long time coming…

Whenever Jews think they can decide what Jewish practice is based on their own understanding of the Hebrew language without any tradition of teachers from the previous generation, and they base their ideas on Converts or Balei Reshuva, they gradually veer further and further away from the legitimate Jewish path. Sad and scary.

  • very disappointed

putthe blame where it belongsYes Those bachurim wholifthands etc are at fault but ultimately its up to The Gabboyim Tolay down enforce the rules& the Hanhala of the Yeshivas as well Myguess it wasn’t done before they arrived wasn’t donee on Thursday night ny the welcome event. The Gabbai not Gabboyimcan’tcontrp; things alone or in generalKriah did resume .Lay down the law or resign!

  • Thank you

Thank you CH.info for braving the criticism and posting this important article, at the same time when other websites are advertising for and glorifying these people. If only more people would care enough…..

  • Main consideration

Heller was against the meschistim and yechi and was pushed out the same thing could happen to braun

  • Who decides?

Is the rov the one who decides or is it the gabbeim? The gabbeim should run the shul, not the rabbonim!

  • YOSSI

WE’LL Maybe if you showed up to 770 once in a while, then you would have a say! as it is now the tzfatim LIVE there so the only way to fight darkness is with light, 1st show up, THEN fix it!
