INBOX: Extremist Violence Isn’t Far Away, It’s Happening Daily In 770

The shocking murder of Charlie Kirk, carried out on ideological grounds, should set off alarm bells for all of us. It is a chilling reminder of how extremist ideology, when met with silence and a lack of boundaries, can spiral into deadly violence. Charlie was not killed because of something he did personally, but because he dared to think differently. His killers could not tolerate another opinion – and they responded in the most extreme way possible.

But let us not be mistaken: this kind of violence is not confined to faraway streets. Right here, in 770, we are witnessing the same phenomenon – not in murder, but in raw violence, threats, and intimidation. This is a group that refuses to accept that others may think differently from them. They resort to aggression, theft, vandalism, and daily terror to impose their will.

In recent months, the situation has deteriorated dramatically. Members of this group have shouted threats at the yeshiva’s administration, stolen tables from the yeshiva as if they were free for the taking, and repeatedly disrupted the weekly Geulah and Moshiach class in 770. They push bochurim out of their regular seats, snatch seforim and booklets, and disturb the sanctity and order of the central shul. This is not childish mischief; it is a campaign of hostile takeover, designed to turn 770 into an arena of brute force instead of a center of holiness and Torah.

The yeshiva administration, under tremendous pressure, has recently taken important steps – expelling violent individuals and preventing them from accessing facilities under its responsibility. But that is only half the battle. 770 itself is not run by the yeshiva, but by the rabbis and gabbaim. The Yeshiva has done all they can, now it is up to the Gabboim and Rabbonim to do their part. They alone hold the key to ending this lawlessness.

There was hope, especially after the wall in 770 was broken down, that the rabbis and gabbaim would finally take proper action. Yet nothing truly changed. The silence continues – and that silence enables the terror to grow stronger.

And the time to act is now. We are entering the month of Tishrei – a month filled with prayer, gatherings, and guests – and every year, violence tends to escalate during this very period. This year the danger is far greater: a new, especially aggressive kevutza has arrived, behaving with brutality unlike anything seen in past years. Without a clear and decisive response, the violence will only intensify.

We cannot allow this reality to continue. We cannot surrender 770 to terrorists disguised as “bochurim.” The responsibility rests squarely on the rabbis and gabbaim – and the community must demand that they act firmly, now, before the peace and holiness of this sacred place are destroyed.

Residents of Crown Heights: the responsibility is in your hands. Demand that your rabbis and community leaders step up and put an end to this terror. The silence of leadership is complicity. Now is the time to raise a loud and unmistakable voice: no to violence, no to terror, yes to holiness and peace.

100% but unfortunately 770 lack Rabbonim and gabboim. Zalman Lipskier watched the terrorists break the walls of 770 and didn’t even attempt to intervene. Losh has no say in anything and Rabbi Braun is too scared. So who exactly are you expecting to do something? We need to start fresh and proper Rabbonim and Gabboim.

Before Rosh Hashana is the BEST time to FIX the evils of the past! That is why we read the klolos in Ki Savo davka before Rosh Hashana.

Indeed it is appropriate that before Rosh Hashono we make sure that the holiness of 770 is restored and not controlled by these Jihadist thugs.

If you don’t agree you clearly never step foot in 770 and thus you have no right to an opinion on this matter.

Maybe the Rabonin should stop accepting students from rishon letzion… We already know if over a dozen cases where they go around physically attacking people and brutally hurting them. Not to mention how they give people death threats like it’s a greeting… Too many people have suffered and this needs to end before we take matters into our own hands

  • Change

We all agree things have to change. The only way things will change is if there are enough Crown Heightsers who are ready to take over.

I am talking about people who are ready to take bachurim to beis din, And when they don’t show up to get them arrested and press charges.

Yar round need around 100 people. Tishrei you need 500. Once order is restored you will need about 10.

Your solution to violence is use more violance. And you think that your are better than them. Just as the evil impulse tries to entice humans to sin, so does it try to entice them to be overly righteous. Rabbi Y Michal of Zlotchov Lubavitch ought to open a dialoge. If fail to come to a resolution then try for peacefull coexsistance.

If someone is destroying your house, do you have 2 sides get together and make a compromise?

These people don’t work for compromise they believe in all or nothing.

They own the rebbe and chabad, if you disagree with them you’re an anti, and therefore you don’t matter, you’re not human in their eyes.

A group of 10 bachurim from yitzhar near up a friend of mine leaving him with strangulation

Other big chassidut wouldn’t tolerate any disrespectful misbehavior. A few broken bones will keep the rif raf away. Just try this garbage ANYWHERE else! I am thinking of Williamsburg or Square or Bobov…even BMG..and definitely Bnei Brak. We deserve it because we allow it!

I don’t like what is going on in 770
BUT – other chassidus – are you kidding? Look at the fights in Satmar, bobov etc. – especially Satmar!

  • What is wrong with you?

While this is infuriating, this does not give rise to anything close to what happened to Kirk. This is pathetic. Just another attempt at stoking division. You need to get a sense of proportion.

  • A worried onlooker

It’s quite worrying how people have the guts to compare Charlie Kirk’s murder to the bochurim in 770 who get constantly mistreated and whenever they stand up for themselves they get branded as terrorists

Instead of trying to push them out or get them deported (get another Jew deported?!?!?!?) maybe the correct approach would be to try and help the apparent 2 sides see the broader picture

  • Another huge problem

Is that people smoke cigarettes inside or right next to the door even though they are not allowed to and nobody enforces the rule

  • 770

Needs armed frum security guards at every entrance to make sure no people who don’t follow the rules are allowed in

  • For real?

Aggressive? Is that how you decide things? Under the veil of hating truth being extreme yourself to the oppyend? Yes The Gabby need to be replaced with new and real Gaboyim. If a bachurvcauses damage mis behaves/ a bully away he should go immediately. First lay down the rules publicly each Bochur should and must sign pledge to abide by rules enforcement is a must in all sides!

  • Two sides

Let’s face it there’s 2 sides to every story The Author is obviously exhagaratiing. Has an agenda of his own. Let’s bottom line every Bachurim must follow rules guidelines otherwise away they go Gaboyim? What Gaboyim! There’s one f/t Gabby another one or 2 p/t. Rabbonim must force new elections and expanded Gaboyim Hanhala must do their Job as well Bochurim should be told rules sign pledge keep.

Yonah, maybe you need eyeglasses. I viewed the video and it was disgusting. Would you want someone to treat you the way that bochur was treated as he was mockingly shoved off his seat?!

  • Oy Vey

Of course they need professional security and police to carry out the LAW. Arrested and shipped out. Better Idea….
    Moshiach Moshiach Moshiach!
