Hascholas Kesivas Sefer Torah in Manchester
MACHESTER, England — “The Minyan” established 5 years ago as part of the Manchester Beis Menachem Community Centre celebrated its 5th anniversary by commencing the writing of a new Kehillah Sefer Torah.- Ben Chomesh Lemikrah.

Reb Uziyohu Brown renowned Sofer and member of Anash will B’EH complete the Sefer Torah for Chai Ellul.
This past Sunday 16th Of Cheshvan the Kehillah and friends joined together b’simcha to write the first letters, Rabbi Mendel Cohen, Rav and Mashpiah of the Shul and Beis Menachem began by explaining the great zechus and significance of this undertaking.
A children’s program was led by Rabbi Daniel Walker with a hands on Sefer Torah Workshop where they were able to participate and appreciate the joy and importance of the occasion.
The Hahanolah of Beis Menachem began the writing of the letters with Harav Hachosid Rabbi Akivah Cohen, Rosh hayeshivah of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester writing the first Ois, followed by the choshever oilam.
The Mesiboh was later honoured with the presence of The Morah D’asroh and Rav of Machzeika Hadas Harav Rabbi Schneebalg who gave divrei Brocha and was mechabed with writing an Ois.
The event was organised by the dedicated Gaboim Reb Shmuel Giffen, Reb Dovid Pink, and Reb Mordechai Uhrmacher, who announced that 10 sedras were still available as well as individual letters for those who wish to participate in the new Sefer Torah.
Since its inception “The Minyan” has established itself as a warm and vibrant Beis Hamedrash and the new Sefer will B’EH join the other 2 Sifrei Torah given to the Kehillah by Family Kasmir and Family Noyek, staunch supporters of the Minyan and Beis Menachem.
