Live at 12:00 PM: The JewQ Championship – A Pivotal Moment for Jewish Youth Education

Today, at 12:00 PM EST, the international JewQ Championship takes the stage, highlighting an unparalleled engagement in Jewish learning among youth from 250 communities across 25 countries. The event, significant in its scope and ambition, is an annual educational milestone, today more than ever, responding to the rising challenges Jewish children face worldwide.

“In today’s difficult environment, there’s nothing more empowering for Jewish kids than a comprehensive understanding of their heritage,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “no matter who wins the championship title, these children will return to their classrooms as proud and confident Jews.”

Uniquely for children in public schools without formal Jewish education, JewQ uses a gamified approach to make learning both effective and enjoyable. The 4,000 participants have spent months studying Jewish traditions, history, and values, culminating in today’s event, which will also feature celebrity guest questions and a live segment from Israel, enhancing the connection to Jewish roots.

Organized by Rabbi Mendel Raskin, director of JewQ at Merkos 302 and produced by Dovid Weinbaum of DW Productions, the JewQ Championship event showcases the hard work of its contestants through a game show format. Questions range from practical aspects of tradition to deep general Jewish knowledge, emphasizing the comprehensive education these children receive.

Developed by CKids, Chabad’s Children’s Network, the JewQ competition is meticulously crafted to empower Jewish children by deepening their understanding and pride in their heritage. Through an engaging curriculum, exciting incentives, and an international competition, JewQ aims to fortify the confidence of Jewish youth, enabling them to stand strong in their beliefs and heritage.
