Friendship Circle Hosts ‘Purim in the Lab’

Children with special needs and their families really did have a joyous Purim this year in Crown Heights.

The Friendship Circle of Brooklyn hosted its annual Purim Party on Sunday morning, with over 100 children, siblings and parents in attendance.

The theme of the event was “Purim in the Lab.” The children got to create their own “water tornado,” and eat out of petri dishes. Crafts, Hamatash making, great food and an awesome Mad Science show proved to be the right start for what was going to be a great Purim day.

Megila was read by Rabbi Sholly Weiser, who is also the Baal Koreh of the bi-weekly Friendship Circle Boys’ Minyan.

Purim is also one of those times when the Friendship Circle shows its great appreciation for their dedicated volunteers, who really give it their all to the children in our community.

The Purim party and Mishloach Manos were sponsored in part by Mr. and Mrs. Zalman and Pessi Schochat and Mr. and Mrs. Dovid and Malki Smetana.
