2 Lubavitch Owned Companies Ranked in Inc. 5000
Two Lubavitch owned companies took the #126 and #568 spots on this year’s Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fastest growing private companies of 2013. This marks the first time the number has gotten smaller in four years.
Inc. 5000 compiles a list of all fastest growing American companies of the year, and this year featured four companies, all owned by Lubavitcher businessmen, who took top spots in the furniture, food, travel, rewards and clothing categories.
Renegade Furniture Group, based out of Hewlett, NY, is owned by Yisroel B. Krinsky is joining the list for the first time and took the top spot amongst other Lubavitcher owned companies and ranked #126. Renegade sells and manufactures furniture for homes as well as for corporate and hospitality customers.
Prodege, based out of Torrance, CA, and ranked #586. Prodege offers “virtual currency” to its users, in exchange for their registration, every time they search, purchase, play games, and share opinions online.
In the past three years these companies appeared on the list: Astor & Black, The Fresh Diet, ELJet Services, 1st Merchant Funding and Ajax Union.
How the Companies are selected
This year’s list measures revenue growth from 2009 through 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009.
Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent–not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies-as of December 31, 2012. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.)
The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million. Revenue figures given in the company profiles are for calendar year 2012.
Employee counts are as of December 31, 2012. Full-time and part-time employees are included in the employee counts; independent contractors are not.
