Up from four in 2011, this year five Lubavitch owned companies were ranked in the top 5,000 of Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing private companies of 2012.

Inc. 5000 compiles an annual list of the fastest growing American companies. This year’s list featured four companies, all owned by Lubavitcher businessmen, who took top spots in the Advertising, food, finance and clothing categories.

Ajax Union is owned by Zevi Friedman and Yossi Apfelbaum and based out of Brooklyn, NY. It made its first debut on the list this year, ranking at #178. Ajax Union is a boutique Internet marketing firm that develops and implements strategies to enhance the online presence of its small and midsize business clients and help them outrank their larger competitors.

Prodege, based out of Torrance, CA, and ranked #194. Prodege offers “virtual currency” to its users in exchange for their registration, every time they search, purchase, play games and share opinions online.

1st Merchant Funding, based out of North Miami, FL, is owned by Levi Rosenblum and ranked #566. 1st Merchant Funding provides cash advances against future credit card sales for small and midsize businesses with bad credit. Customers can increase the amount of the advance with each renewal to build up a healthy transaction history and eventually be eligible for more traditional business loans. Businesses typically use the advances to fund expansion, purchase equipment and inventory, increase advertising, manage unexpected expenses, and take advantage of seasonal opportunities.

The Fresh Diet, based out of Surfside, FL, is owned by Zalmi Duchman and ranked #736. The Fresh Diet delivers healthy prepared food–three gourmet meals and two snacks daily–to clients in many U.S. metropolitan markets.

Astor & Black Custom Clothiers, based out of Columbus, OH, is owned by David Schottenstein and ranked #1512. Astor & Black custom sews men’s suits, jackets, pants, and shirts. Customers across the U.S. and Canada can schedule appointments at their homes or offices.

    the other 3 companies are growing but with no profit so unless big daddy comes and buys them out they will be out of cash within 3-5 years
