Seven New Rabbis Ordained in Brazil

The S. Paulo Jewish community came together Monday night to celebrate the granting of Smicah to seven students of yeshiva Lubavitch Ohel Menachem Mendel of S. Paulo, Brazil.

The newly ordained young rabbis are: Shlomo Lerer, Avraham Izzac, Adir Mulli, Menashe Susan, Nirel Shunam, and Yonatan Khalimi; all residents of Ashkelon, Israel.

Amongst the evening’s speakers was Brazil Shliach Rabbi Yankel Begun; Rabbi Shmuel Ahron Havlin, Rosh Kolel of Kolel Yavne in Jardim, S. Paulo; Rabbi Shamai Ende, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Lubavitch Ohel Menachem Mendel; and Rabbi Dovber Gurary, mashpia in the yeshiva, who spoke on behalf of the Talmidim.

The bochurim spent the past year in an intensive and rigorous learning program, and were tested throughout the year by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Faigleshtok, Av Beis Din of Argentina; Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yeruslavski, Rov of Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel and a member of the Vaad Rabonei Lubavitch; Rabbi Shmuel Ahron Havlin and Rabbi Shamai Ende.
