NYS Assembly Candidate Highlights Crown Heights Parks, Notes Neglect and Dangerous Conditions
by CrownHeights.info
NYS Assembly candidate Ahron Gluck highlighted unsafe conditions in Crown Heights parks as he looks to unseat incumbent Assemblyman Brian Cunningham.
“Parks should be safe places where families gather, children play, and neighbors enjoy the outdoors,” Gluck wrote. “Unfortunately, many parks throughout Crown Heights have been left in unacceptable and in many cases dangerous conditions.”
According to Gluck, residents continue to encounter serious safety hazards, including:
• Fallen trees and debris left unattended for days, creating dangerous obstacles for our children.
• Uneven and broken pavement throughout playground areas, increasing the risk of trips, falls, and injuries.
• Damaged park benches with exposed sharp screws that pose a danger to anyone sitting or playing nearby.
• Broken and rusty soccer goals and park sports equipment with sharp metal edges, creating a serious safety threat for children and athletes.
“These are not minor inconveniences — they are preventable hazards that put our families at risk every day.” he explained. “Our children in Crown Heights deserve safe playgrounds. Our seniors deserve safe walking paths. Our community deserves parks that are properly maintained and cared for.”
The question is simple: How much longer will these dangerous conditions be ignored?
“For too long, the community concerns have gone unanswered while basic maintenance and safety issues continue to pile up. It’s time for leadership that will fight to ensure our parks receive the attention and resources they need.”
“Ahron Gluck will advocate for safer parks, better maintenance, improved quality of life for all residents of the district, and the investments our community deserves. Together, we can make our parks safe, clean, and welcoming for every family.”
Because safe parks in the Shchunah shouldn’t be a luxury — they should be a guarantee.
