The Chabad Jewish Center of South Dakota held an event to light a Menorah at Mount Rushmore last night, celebrating both the last night of Chanukah and America’s history of religious freedom.
Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz said: “When our founding fathers established this great country, they gave us all many opportunities including the freedom to practice religion. And I believe there is no better place to express that then at the Presidential memorial at Mt. Rushmore.”
Former State Senator Stan Adelstein was on hand to light the central light on the Menorah.
