Last week, Shimshon Stock, a beloved member of the Crown Heights community, passed away. Three months earlier, as part of its My Encounter with the Rebbe project, JEM sat down with Shimshon to interview him about his personal stories with the Rebbe. Here is a small excerpt from that interview.

As a widow, I found myself suddenly left alone to fend for myself. Who in the community, was always there, calling in to see if I needed anything, not only before yomim tovim, but, more beautifully, checking in to my welfare on a regular basis, which meant more to me than one can ever imagine. Just a simple call to see how are you doing? It was Shimshon Stock… We all miss you so much .We will always love you.

I just found out that Shimshon and Marta have left us. Tears won’t stop. They will both be missed forever.
