Mayor and Police Commissioner Come to Crown Heights

Both NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio and NYPD Police Commissioner Bill Bratton came to Crown Heights in order to meet with community leaders in order to discuss the recent stabbing attack in 770 and the response to the incident.

This marks the first time both the Mayor and the police commissioner have visiting Crown Heights since taking on their new jobs. The meeting was held in the wake of a brutal stabbing attack which occurred inside 770 Eastern Parkway, the Lubavitch World Headquarters, early Monday morning and lead 22-year-old Levi Rosenblatt in critical condition. The attacker was shot by police and later died of his wounds.

The meeting, which took place in the offices of the Community Council on Kingston Avenue, began with police commissioner Bill Bratton updating those present with the progress of the investigation into the incident.

“Right now we believe that the individual acted alone and we don’t believe there is any connection to terrorism” said Bratton, adding “that detectives are still investigating, they will be going through the suspects computers and are still trying to figure out why he come from his home in Valley Stream, NY all the way to Crown Heights.”

Chief of the Department James P. O’Neill added details on the way the NYPD is responding to this incident. “We added extra patrols in the area, the police command station near 770 will now have two full time police officers, and there will be two officers in front of 770 on foot as well.”

Mayor Bill DeBlasio then joined the meeting, and speaking to the community leaders he said that the police are on top of everything and working to keep the community safe. He added that they are not seeing any spillover from the demonstrations around the city, and are actively monitoring those demonstrations to make sure that it remains contained and lawful.

Attending the meeting were representatives from Oholei Torah, Beis Rivkah, Bnos Menachem, the Jewish Childrens Museum and the NCFJE.

  • THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

the Mayer was very quick to conclude that this was just a mentally disturbed individual, when the facts say otherwise.

according to media reports , Calvin Peters neighbors attest that he was a NORMAL individual, and a good father for his two kids.

yet the Mayer not wanting to upset his African American base, completely ignores this man hatred for Jews proved by his yelling “i want to kill the Jews” and blames it on this created mental illness.

if this was indeed just a random attack by a mentally unstable individual, then what is all the fuss about, why all press conferences and politicians etc…etc… after all this is “just another” random or crazy incident or crime that has taken place in the larges city in the world?
