Video: Senator Ted Cruz Booed for Pro-Israel Remarks

Last night, at a gathering with Arab Christians, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was booed for saying “Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” and “Those who hate Israel hate America. Those who hate Jews hate Christians.”

Eventually, Cruz decided he could not continue. He said, “If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews, then I will not stand with you. Thank you and God bless you.” He walked offstage to a decidedly mixed response.

      1. He was born in Canada

      2. He has no executive experience; we’ve already seen how a freshman senator does in the presidency, we don’t need to repeat the experiment.

      3. He’s needed where he is, in the Senate. He only just arrived there 3 years ago, he should spend some time there, at least enough time to actually accomplish something. It’s likely that next year the GOP will be in the majority, and Cruz can chair a committee. Let him do that, and not be distracted by a presidential campaign.

      4. Once he’s done with the senate, after maybe 10 or 15 years, I’d like to see him on the Supreme Court. If no vacancy comes up, he should do a stint as Attorney General while waiting for a seat on the Court to open up.

The lesson is this which we have ignored for years: Jews and Israel need to make a better case for themselves and to do an about face to improve their public relations. While this may not effect major changes in attitude, we need still to launch this effort.

And from this we see that the Christian Arabs hate Israel and the Jews just ask much as the Muslims do….
