great song, great teaching but don’t like the singer give to our kids the bad example already we are dealing with in our kehila!!! no need to post in our chabad web.

  • dovid

I LOVED this video, it brought a tear to my eyes…. I wish it were so simple though…

  • Dovid

Never knew ahavas yisroel was a bad example. If anything our kehila is suffering from sinas chinem.

  • United

Love love love, I think its high time we all internalize the message, we are all one, Chabad, Aish, Tzahal, Satmer, just plain old jewish, Am Yisroel Chai!!!

  • to #1

where is your respect for people who dont have the exact same hashkafos as you? just because it is an aish video doesnt mean you cant learn from it.

  • Seriously people?

Did you not hear the message of the video? So what if it’s from Aish? They are our brothers! No wonder Moshiach isn’t here yet.

  • copyright infridgement

Never ceases to amaze me the plagiarism among us! I’m sure this young man did not get permission from Sly & The Family Stone to rip off his song and slightly change the words.

  • REALLY GUYS???

Okay, I “love” how people are ripping into this video…you TOTALLY missed the point of what its about! We are all brothers and sisters, and believe me when I say your saying negative things about Aish does not help spread ahavas yisroel and bring moshiach.

  • Aish Video?!? - its Chabad!!

I can’t believe nobody commented on the Chabad tefillin stand from 1:43 until 1:50 in the video – look again, you’ll love it.

I showed it to my family, though i started the clip from after the opening website…

The story is told of when chassidim started singing an Ani Maamin which was not Chabad, in front of the Rebbe. [please correct me if I got the details wrong]
Other Chassidim were shushing them… The Rebbe remarked, and i paraphrase, how can we not sing a niggun which so many yidden sang while giving their lives al kiddush Hashem? Certainly this must be a Chabad Niggun!
This is the Niggun of Ani Maamin which we sing until today [in camp at flag lowering].

  • The Tefillin stand

The Tefillin stand is in the background almost throughout the entire video.

  • surprised!

as commentors 13 and 14 have both noted that there is a tefilin stand in the background, yet its not even focused on once cause its a chabad tefilin stand. therefore i think this video should be removed, after all you would never see anything jewish from chabad on the aish website, certainly they would never post a non frum video.therefore I am asking you to please remove the video.

  • sly and the family stone

Do you people realize that this is a hit song from the 70s by a funk band called Sly and the Family Stone? Look, my nefesh habehamis enjoys a good goyishe song as much as the next guy, but what I enjoy is different than what I would use as a public tool for promoting a Jewish message. These misnagdim are so grob that they think they are being hip by using this music. It’s no chochma. We could do the same exact thing… if we were clueless and had no standards. Let’s see next a video about ahavas yisroel that uses “What the world needs now is love sweet love” by Burt Bacharach. I mean, at least Burt is Jewish!

  • knockoff

this is a knockoff of another video gone viral, aish seems to be great at copying other peoples creative ideas. but in that other video it was done in one take which took amazing talent, creativity and actors, something which is very hard to imitate

  • Wish it were true

Can you really imagine a chareidi guy buying an ice cream for a chayal without a yarmulke???? Not in my lifetime, unfortunately.

  • Avrahom

Aish has an approach to take goyishe movies and songs to bring closer secular Jews. They say so openly. Chabad has a different approach of bringing people up to the Torah. Case closed

  • A Proud Shliach

    Well done Crownheights.info!
As a Shliach in a far flung place I was very proud to see this video put up by you!
Good on you: we are ultimately all on the same team :)
We have more in common with Aish than many others, let’s focus on what unites us, not what divides us!

  • im all in

to 1,2,7,9,11,15,16 and all other similar comments to follow:

The world really IS bigger than that fishbowl you have over your head. You seem to be the only ones that DIDN’T understand the message.

  • just saying

somehow if chabad made such a video it would be trshed by the “aish velt” of haters

    just syaing

  • Now i finally understand...

Now i finally understand what Chassidus explains that all the hashpo-ois in the world come through the nosi hador. Misnagdim think that they can make a “kiruv” video without any connection to the Rebbe, little do they realize its the Rebbe giving the inspiration (as you can see clearly in the background).

If only the producers of the video would have learned a bit of Chassidus, it would have come with a kosher song. And this i say to ourselves as well, if only we would really learn Chassidus, our Telethons, videos and events would all have songs which the Rebbe would be proud of.

  • Zach

The chances of Aish posting a video produced by Chabad are around equal to the chances of finding someone in 770 who uses a hat brush.

  • GOLANI SHELI

    AHHLA GOLANI!!!!!
atleast they got a true soulja ;)

    BROWN BERET KAVOD!
STOP HATING, FOR EVERY HATER I HOPE YOUR SALARY GOES TO MEDICAL BILLS!

    RATZOO ETZ KIBLU GEZAH!

  • Chana Malka

this video brought tears to my eyes….

CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?????

you ALL just miss the message

  • Rebecca

    2 Jews 3 opinions.
But seriously folks it looks like the lady put a Canadian 20$ bill in his guitar case at the end.

  • the man in the band

    brown beret = KAVODDDD~!

to all you close minded people still stuck in your own comfortable box, i feel bad for your kids… and one day i hope you dont have a heart attack from seeing them being ‘normal’

AHLA GOLANI! atleast they got real deal

    AT : #23 ….. LIKE!

  • chill out

I totally agree with this video – we should all be zoche to live together with a good kosher ice cream parlor. :P

It’s meant as a good-spirited thing… if it doesn’t put you in good spirits, don’t watch.

  • Yossi / Mexico

If we are talking about a frum website this video should be removed…

Little by little Lubavitch is losing its touch!!!

  • Sheesh!

So friggin Crown Heights to say that its horrible… Of course, as anything common sense or positive, so many miss the point…. Ahavas Yisroel.. Does it have to be DRILLED INTO YOUR HEADS!?

  • Its a goyishe song!

This is actually a Goyishe song by Sly and Family Stone called “Everyday People”. They are an african American disco/funk band known for their drug use and lack of modesty.

  • ABCs

    to # 13:
this is based on a song by a black non-Jewish music group, “arrested development”. The video may have a message of unity, but I don’t think we should include it as an original chabad niggun. just sayin…

  • great point

Guys the video was showing a point. I was so focused on the acts of goodness that I didnt even hear the music in the backround.

  • Original...NOT

Doesn’t anyone in the frum world understand that taking a songwriters tune, adapting the words, and not getting permission, is a form of theft? It’s copyright infringement.
All I ever hear when that’s done is the original words. The copy-cat comes off as a fraud to me. No originality really. Think of this please next time you think it’s cute to adapt someone else’s music to your words.
