Video: Pesach Greeting from US Congress

From both sides of the aisle, members of the US Congress send their Pesach greetings. Both house majority leader Eric Cantor and the Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz recorded messages.

Ms. Wasserman Schultz is one of the most rabidly partisan members in all of the House of Representatives. No nasty rhetoric is too outrageous for her, and no deceptive remark is too far beyond the pale. Her divisive disposition has contributed greatly to the current discordant environment in the halls of Congress.

And this has to do with the article… how? Perhaps, if you need to know the source of the “nasty rhetoric” and “discordant environment,” look in a mirror.

    To Ezra:
My statement has everything to do with this article. My purpose was to point out that despite seeming to be a perfectly agreeable woman, she is in fact a divisive, disingenuous, hate spewing attack dog.

I would say it’s highly unlikely that I contributed in any way to her “nasty rhetoric” and the “discordant environment” in the Congress.

Cantor is incredibly partisan which planet are you from? In all fairness your comment is laughable.

I have at least two reasons to disagree with your last paragraph.

      1. A good part of what’s hurting this country – and yes, contributes to the nastiness in Congress – is the idea that “the personal is political.” You may not agree with what DWS says and does – I don’t either – but there is a time to point that out, and that time is when politics are being discussed.

      2. On a spiritual level, what you do affects the world at large. So yes, your comments create more of an atmosphere of hatred in the world, which in turn eventually seeps into Capitol Hill. The reverse is also true, of course – and more so, since מדה טובה מרובה: your looking out for the good qualities of others has a ripple effect.

Oh boy, as if Eric Cantor is any better…? LOL. Hello pot, yes, this is kettle. You’re black.

CANTOR DOES NOT REPRESENT THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW AND AS SUCH CREATES THE ILLUSION THAT THE COVERAGE IS EVENHANDED. MOST REPUBLICANS ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN TAX AND SPEND DEMOCRATS WHO DISREGARD FREEDOM TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY {AS IN RIGHT TO CARRY GUNS}, LIFE{AS IN ABORTION IN ALL CASES}, ALLOWING FOREIGNERS TO COME IN WITHOUT PERMISSION {AS IN “UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS”}. WHAT DO YOU CALL AN “UNDOCUMENTED
SHOPPER”? {SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE A RECEIPT FOR MERCHANDISE IN HIS POCKET IN A STORE} ANSWER: A THIEF.

      1. Please stop yelling (all caps is the Internet equivalent of that).

      2. As above, there is a time and place for such screeds, and that is elsewhere – the more so because no one here has claimed that Cantor “represents the conservative view.”
