NY1 — Thousands of Hasidic rabbis from around the world are gathering in Brooklyn for an annual conference.

Leaders and scholars are at the 27th annual Conference of Lubavitch Emissaries in the group’s headquarters in Crown Heights.

Members are attending lectures and workshops on education, family and spiritual development.

The goal is to reinvigorate the rabbis before they return to their missions around the world.

The rabbis also visit the resting place of the movement’s late leader, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, who died in 1994.

“There are close to 4,000 Chabad Lubavitch rabbis from 76 countries that are in town for this conference, and every year they come here to the grave site of the Rebbe [Schneerson], which is considered a scared place to pray and inspire themselves for the year ahead,” said attendee Rabbi Motti Seligson.

The conference also includes a massive banquet in Red Hook on Sunday, which will feature speeches, storytelling and dancing.
