Larry King is seen nightly by millions of viewers around the world as the host of CNN’s “Larry King Live,” which is one of the longest running talk shows on television. King, who celebrated his 50th anniversary as a broadcast journalist in 2007, is a two-time Peabody Award winner as well as a member of the Radio Hall of Fame.

With the theme of “People Helping People,” this year’s Telethon will highlight the many ways that the people of Chabad reach out to aid the needy through grassroots services. Other guests scheduled to show their support of the group’s nonsectarian work include actor Elliott Gould, comedian Shelley Berman, and actress/singer Mare Winningham.

Actor and comedian Elon Gold will host the program, and will be joined by a variety of entertainers, including stand-up comedians Mark Schiff and Jeffrey Ross, as co-hosts. The broadcast will also feature live performances by some of the top acts in contemporary Jewish music, such as Mordechai Ben David, Gad Elbaz, Avraham Fried, and the Yeshiva Boys Choir.

The Chairpersons of the Chabad “To Life” Telethon are film producer Jerry Weintraub and attorney Marshall B. Grossman, both longtime friends and supporters of the organization. During the program, architect Robert Kite will receive the Lamplighter Humanitarian Award for his dedication to helping the children at Chabad’s Running Springs campus.

Funds raised by the Telethon support Chabad’s community-based efforts to educate, uplift, and bring hope to people of all backgrounds. Last year’s show generated more than $6 million for these charitable programs.

The annual event will be broadcast across the country on television, and people all over the world will be able to enjoy the Telethon via the streaming online simulcast on the website www.ToLife.com.

i think chabad should stop honoring people who are married to goyim larry king said this “i love shikses”

  • king shming. what about 8th day

they had them on for the first time last year and they were great.

  • shmuly boteach

well, rabbi cunin doesn’t watch television, nor does he read whatever you read or watch what you watch so he wouldn’t know that larry king loves shikses.
are you saying that when someone says, i want to be on the telethon, rabbi cunin should ask them if they’re married to a jew?
what about other sins? what if they drive on shabbos?
PS since you apparently are “bakant” in goyishe zachen, such as larry king’s personal life, you might want to see my show, shalom in the home, even frum people can learn from it and even if you’re not yet married.

    ATTN SHMULY,

I REALLY DONT THINK IT IS YOUR PLACE TO LECTURE PEOPLE ON WHAT THEY READ OR WATCH, YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW THIS PERSON AND WHAT SPIRITUAL LEVEL THEY ARE ON, FOR ALL YOU KNOW THEY COULD BE A BAAL TESHUVAH WHO SAW THIS SHOW BEFORE THEY WERE FRUM OR THEY ARE JUST NOT AS “SPIRITUAL” AND “LOFTY” AS YOU ARE,OR THEY READ IT ONLINE IN AN ARTICLE THAT IS COMPLETEY APPROPRIATE, MAYBE YOU SHOULD RECONSIDER HOW YOU JUDGE PEOPLE, BECAUSE IF YOU DO A SHOW ON MARITAL ADVICE, YOU CANT JUDGE PEOPLE LIKE YOU JUST DID, PLUS I THINK TAHT YOUR SHOW IS BOUGUSSS….AND YOSEF YOU ARE RIGHT, CHABAD OF LA SHOULD STOP HONORING PEOPLE LIKE LARRY KING, THEY SHOULD ALSO START TREATING THEIR SHLUCHIM WITH SOME RESPECT!!!!!!

    AND EIGHTH DAY IS AMAZING!!
