Ma’os Chitin Project in Moscow a Huge Success

As the “Ma’os Chitin” project is wrapping up, the Moscow Jewish community has B”H managed to distribute a large amount of substantial food baskets to the needy as well as to big families in Moscow.

The project was launched right after Purim, heeding the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s holy teachings: “since your people’s needs are many, one must begin the “shturem” in advance: immediately after Purim we begin engaging in “maos chitin”, progressing and adding more of the holiday needs each day, as we near the days of Pesach.”

The “Matan BeSeiser Fund of Moscow” has been operating for many years under the guidance and blessing of the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berl Lazar, who urges them to ensure that the indigent will receive their holiday needs in a dignified manner.

All donations came from the public in response to an extensive, well-invested ad campaign. The public answered the call, contributing to the holy cause of Maos Chitin.

The distribution of the generous food baskets took place in the Shaarey Tzedek Chesed Center. The Matan BeSeiser Fund of Moscow is based there throughout the year, helping the destitute, as well those blessed with large families in a pleasant and dignified manner.
