Russia’s Jewish Leaders Gather in Moscow

Hundreds of Shluchim and Jewish Community Leaders from across Russia gathered in Moscow today, Thursday, for the annual conference of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Russia.

The conference marked 15 years since the founding of the FJC, under the leadership of Russia chief rabbi Berel Lazar, and president of the FJC Rabbi Alexander Boroda.

Attending the event as well was philanthropist Lev Leviev, who generously provided much of the FJC’s funding over the last 15 years, along with the Israeli ambassador to Russia, Mrs. Dorit Hollander, and several representatives from the Kremlin.

Throughout the day, the Shluchim and community leaders attended seminars and workshops. The gathering will culminate tonight in a grand banquet dinner at the Marina Roscha synagogue.
