More than 50 Jewish women along with 70 children participated in a unique summer camp in Zhitomir, Western Ukraine. The attendees were needy single parents and their children from 24 remote villages in the region.
The ‘Alumim’ Jewish Community center in Zhitomir hosted the special camp, designed to assist the poorest Jewish families throughout the region, many of whom are single parented and suffer from severe financial hardships.
