New App Connects Jews with Local Shluchim

Have you ever been on an airplane, discovered that the person sitting next to you is Jewish, and wondered how you could make his encounter with Judaism continue after the plane ride ends? Do you know people who are traveling or moving abroad and want to connect them to their local Shluchim?

Enter ChabadLink, a new and exciting joint project of Merkos Suite 302 and Chabad.org.

ChabadLink is a web app that enables Jews around the world to connect with shluchim through direct referrals.

Find the Shliach you need with its easy search function, searching by location, institution, campus, or name. Enter your friend’s contact information and, with one click, the shliach or shlucha will receive your referral by email. ChabadLink is already up and running, compatible with all mobile phones, tablets and computers and ready for your test drive today!

“This new app has been created as part of the Global Jewish Youth Initiative, designed to connect any Jew anywhere with a welcoming Jewish center that will provide for the full spectrum of his or her Jewish needs,” explains Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch. “Whether it’s a student traveling abroad to study or a family relocating to another state or country, we want to ensure that there is no missing link in the lifelong chain of Jewish experiences.”

Chabad.org’s Rabbi Meir Simcha Kogan adds that “in keeping with the global hachlata undertaken at this year’s kinus of tofei’ach al menas lehatfiach, ChabadLink has been made accessible to the public, enabling shluchim to empower their community members to connect other Jews to their own Chabad Houses in an unprecedented manner.”

A localized version of the web app is also available to all shluchim.
