Scottish Jews Enjoy Barbecue in the Sukkah
Over 75 men, women and children enjoyed great food and atmosphere at the annual Lubavitch of Scotland Succos barbecue, held in the Sukkah of Rabbi Chaim and Mrs. Sora Jacobs, Lubavitch shluchim in Scotland for 44 years.
Everyone attending was given the opportunity to make a bracha over the Lulav and eat in the Sukkah. For some this was their first experience eating in a Sukkah ever. All the food was organized by Sora Jacobs and supplied by L’Chaim’s Kosher Catering.
Throughout Sukkos Rabbi Chaim, Sora, their son Rabbi Mendel Jacobs and his wife Tzirl have been welcoming numerous people to their Sukkah to enjoy Yomtov hospitality. A set of Lulav and Esrog was taken to numerous elderly people in nursing homes and those living on their own.
Lubavitch’s ‘Shul in the Park’ has had busy services over Yomtov, and preparations are underway for a large Simchas Torah Party with Michael Jackson and Martin Berman, chairman and vice chairman of Newark Care Home, where Shul in the Park holds its services.
