CKids 1st Anniversary, 275% Membership Increase
Just a modest Pesach pilot program for 80 shluchim last year, CKids, now a year-round ready-to-go kids program with 300 shluchim members, is celebrating its first anniversary of lifting shluchim’s burden of preparing children’s programs—for every Shabbos and yom tov of the year.
Says Mrs. Rivkie Block, shlucha to Plano, Texas, “This curriculum is amazing! […] It’s changed our shul. Where we used to have eight kids on Shabbos, we now have close to 30. And that means the shul attendance has grown, as well. You exceed expectations with this curriculum, that’s for sure!”
“We have a very carefully selected staff that ensures top-notch quality and service,” explains Mrs. Chaya Mushka Moscowitz, CKids director and shlucha to Chicago, Illinois. After veteran educators develop curriculums adaptable to varying backgrounds and ages, creative writers tie it all together with an exciting theme. Skilled and trained editors and proofreaders add final touches before the designers turn the content into a visual and tactile masterpiece. New games are created, with original game pieces made ready for use. Added to the package are customizable PR and recruitment materials for websites, emails, and Facebook, as well as postcards and posters.
“No two shluchim or their communities are identical,” says Rabbi Beryl Frankel, Merkos Suite 302 director. “We wanted to make certain that the curriculum was highly adaptable, and that’s with regard to the curriculum lessons and activities themselves, as well as the delivery options and PR, and just about everything else.” He continues, “But, all this is done while keeping in mind that the program has to be ready for use at first glance.”
Shluchim choose between five tracks of service by mail or online, with programming available for every Shabbos and yom tov of the year. This past Kinus HaShluchos saw the launch of the first segment of CKids’s incentive system. Themed on the Ten Mivtzoim, the “MCards” can be used as collector cards, raffle tickets, or currency for buying prizes.
“This is so much more than a simple children’s program,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch. “Through this program, we are seeing children developing a new active desire to learn Torah and even bringing their parents to shul.”
CKids is pleased to offer a 15% anniversary discount to new 5774 members following purchase of a one-month trial package. The CKids Pesach package, with two days’ programming sent digitally or by mail, is also available at a reduced price.
