Passing the Puck for Purim

PORT WASHINGTON, NY [CHI] — Purim Celebrations will take on a new dimension this year as a unique Purim event will be held at the Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday, March 18. As a sequel to the exciting pre-Chanukah Celebration with the NY Islanders, the team has once again invited Chabad to bring the joy of the holiday to their fans.

In an unprecedented move that translated into a moving and exciting evening, Rabbi Paltiel, director of Chabad of Port Washington, lit the menorah for an Islanders’ pre-Chanukah ceremony at Nassau Coliseum on Monday, December 3 — sporting an Islanders jersey with the title “Rabbi” and the number 18. Come see Rabbi Paltiel in action again (maybe this time, they’ll let him play, too) during the Islanders game against the Maple Leafs. Purim-themed Thunderstix for the first 5,000 fans, personal Purim guides for all, and a captivating Purim message are some of the evening’s highlights.

Deeply-discounted promotional tickets to this historic game are available for purchase at www.IslandersPurim.com. This extraordinary event, coordinated by Chabad of Port Washington in conjunction with Chabad of the Coliseum and sponsored by North Shore Motor Group, promises to be an evening of celebration, pride and fun.
